Authorities of the Juan Antonio Sotillo Municipality of Anzoátegui state consider that at least 5 thousand tourists will travel to the region during this Holy Week. This was announced by the director of the Passenger Terminal of the city of Puerto la Cruz, José Brito.

He indicated that since Thursday, April 7, a security deployment was implemented with teams from the Corps of Scientific, Criminal, and Criminal Investigations. Same with Civil Protection and Polisotillo officials.

He assured that the security personnel will be available for “protecting all users who take the Sotillo municipality of our Anzoátegui state as their epicenter.”

He stressed that they currently have 33 travel companies available for different destinations in the state. He assured that officials from the National Institute of Land Transport (INTT) are ready to review the transit units.

In an interview for Union Radio in the entity, he added that the state of Sucre, being the coastal area and the most demanded, generates a greater influx of arrivals to the Sotillo Municipality.

In his opinion, during this week tourists from the country’s capital will seek to move to the East to enjoy the different islands.

“There is a very good mobilization and people are motivated to visit Puerto la Cruz a little more,” he emphasized.

He stressed that the passenger terminal will be operational from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. He declared that the presentation of the vaccination card against Covid-19 is one of the fundamental requirements for anyone who is going to board a unit.
