Santiago de los Caballeros, DR.- On Friday afternoon, the Deputy Minister of Preventive Security in Provincial Governments, Ángela Jáquez, and Governor Rosa Santos, led a meeting with senior military officers, police officers and representatives of law enforcement agencies, with the aim of coordinating actions for prevention and guaranteeing citizen security.
The representative of the Executive Branch, Rosa Santos, valued the meeting and urged law enforcement agencies to have an appropriate approach and proximity to citizens, in addition to conducting training sessions between the National Police and COBA.
Vice Minister Jáquez, for her part, stated that businesses selling alcoholic beverages must have their documentation up to date, not obstruct public roads, as well as support school safety, combat noise pollution and reduce illegal races.
While Generals Soto Thormann and Rofolfo Green, commanders of the Second Infantry Brigade (ERD) and the Joint Command North (ERD), supported the measures and made their agents from the Dominican Republic Army available to work as a team for citizen prevention.
General Jiménez Reynoso praised the constant support received from Vice Minister Jáquez and urged the departmental chiefs of the National Police to comply with the assigned measures.
They agreed that the Public Prosecutor’s Office and COBA will work together, along with other law enforcement agencies, to prevent businesses from obstructing sidewalks, reduce noise and regulate business hours, in accordance with the resolution of the Ministry of the Interior and Police.
Present at the event were the director of the Department of Community Affairs, Mario José Almonte; the regional director of DIGESSET, Colonel García Lebrón; the regional director of COBA, Anyorlina Díaz; the coordinator of preventive security of MIP, Jhonattan Erick, and the director of the intervened neighborhoods PN, Colonel Flete Rodríguez.
Also present were the School Police supervisor, First Lieutenant Pimentel Almánzar; the regional director of Politur, Héctor Concepción; the head of the (DNCD) division, Major Santos; representing the regional office of Conani, Ángela Betances; of Migration, Ruddy García; departmental heads of the (PN), among other law enforcement bodies.
