The ambassador for the Brazil Climate ChangeLuiz Alberto Figueiredo, held a meeting with the Vice Minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Rubén Darío Molina, with the aim of initiating a path of protection and salvation in the Amazon, proposed by the President of the Bolivarian Republic from Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.
Figueiredo visited the city of Caracas for his tour in the seven countries that make up the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA): Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. Likewise, it is expected that the high-ranking Brazilian official will meet with the authorities of the Bolivarian Government.
The Head of State at the end of 2022 highlighted the need to reactivate ACTO to seek the salvation of the Amazon rainforest, “we are on time, there has been great damage in recent decades, due to the effects linked to the predatory capitalist system.”
Figueiredo arrived in the country last Sunday, being received by the Director of Mechanisms for Political Coordination and Integration of the Office of the Vice Minister for Multilateral Issues, Edgar Lugo, and the Brazilian Chargé d’Affaires accredited in Caracas, Flavio Macieira.
