The president of the New Paz Border Socialist Mission, m/g. Gerardo José Izquierdo, reported that the crew of the PG-62 ship, with the support of the Popular Power of Fishermen and Fishermen’s Power, Aquacultters and Aquacultters in Venezuela (CONPPA), identified divisive points of the country, delimiting marine and underwater borders to strengthen sovereignty and maintain permanent deployment in the defense of the nation and free of drug trafficking.
The crew of the PG.62 ship was made up of military and civilians. They made the tour of the Peninsula of Paria and Islands.
In statements transmitted by the VTV state channel, Izquierdo said that the delimitation was made by complying with international laws, contemplating principle of proportionality, equidistance, depth, morphological, seabed, of our depths up to 200 meters ».
He said that the Commission sailed aboard a war patrol of the Venezuelan Navy, and “took advantage of the patrol in our exclusive economic zone, (Zee), where the Navy has always had the control of the sea that belongs to Venezuela for any type of crime or need for rescue.”
The action aims to strengthen the sovereignty of all the spaces of the Venezuelan territory, which are monitored in a way by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in order to maintain the country free of drug trafficking.
Extraordinary technical work
For his part, Admiral Ashraf Suleiman said that an admirable technical work was made, with a multidisciplinary team.
“Many institutions joined this border mission, to guarantee our Zee formal and that allows us to generate the custody of our jurisdictional waters, and not exceed the waters of other nations.”
It should be noted that the PG.62 ship also offered a medical-assistance day to the people far from the care centers.
