Authorities count almost 500 apartments affected in Caracas by US attack

Delcy Rodríguez, in charge of the Executive, asked the mayor of Caracas and the head of Government for immediate attention to those affected and to “repair the impacted homes as soon as possible.”


Delcy Rodríguez, in charge of the Executive, said that more than 463 apartments were affected after the attack by the United States military forces on January 3, which ended with the capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.

Although he did not specify the exact location of these homes, it is understood that they are from the capital, as he instructed the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, and the head of the Government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, and the Minister of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez, immediate attention “to repair as soon as possible.”

Rodríguez gave this information from Fuerte Tiuna, during a day of social assistance for the inhabitants of the place, one of those affected by the bombings..

The authorities did not specify exactly what damage the homes suffered, nor the number of people who were injured in that area.

Delcy Rodríguez insisted that unity must be maintained in the country and said that “the external enemy and internal extremism work for division.” In his opinion, in the current context, the “best response is calm” and “strategic prudence.”

“Let nothing bring us down, let nothing defeat us,” he expressed.

The Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, reported that 47 members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) died on January 3 in the United States attack. However, there is still no official balance of the number of deaths and injuries on January 3.
