Santo Domingo.- The Minister of InsideJesús Vásquez Martínez, met for more than three hours with military commanders, the director general of the National Police, the governors and the mayors of the border region, to analyze the critical path to follow to avoid illegal settlements, the transfer of fuels and the traffic of foreigners to Dominican territory.
The authorities announced that they will meet again soon in Dajabón, to define the concrete actions that will be adopted around the points analyzed to strengthen migratory control on the border with Haiti.
They stated that harmony and the defense of national sovereignty prevailed in this meeting, and that the nerve points that concern the governors and mayors of the border provinces were analyzed.
The Army Commander General, Major General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the director of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, and the head of the Specialized Border Security Corps (Cesfront), Army General Frank Mauricio Cabrera Rizek.
In addition, the general secretary of the Dominican Municipal League, Víctor D’Aza; the president of the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (Fedomu), Kelvin Cruz, and the vice minister of Migratory Management and Naturalization, Juan Manuel Rosario.
