Veracruz authorities reported on Monday another case of probable intoxication at Technical High School 67, in the Álamo Temapache municipality, where at least 36 students were hospitalized after presenting symptoms such as headache, nausea and palpitations.
This case is added to the one reported this Saturday, October 15, in Las Margaritas, Chiapas, where a 70-year-old person died and 20 more were hospitalized for consuming presumably contaminated food.
Both episodes are part of a list of massive intoxications registered in recent days in the country, which are already being investigated by federal authorities.
Regarding the case in Las Margaritas, Chiapas, the State Health Secretariat reported that the intoxicated attended a family party last Wednesday, October 12.
In the rest of the poisonings that involve more than a hundred students from Chiapas, between 13 and 15 years old, the events have been attributed to “food intake”, “contaminated water”, and “smoke inhalation”. However, there are no official conclusions.
