SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS.- The Ministry of Interior and Police, the Provincial Government and the Mayor’s Office of the Guayacanes municipality, carried out the works of the Citizen and Gender Security Table, where they discussed several issues, with the objective of guaranteeing a safer and more equitable environment for all the inhabitants of the province.
The meeting was headed by Jorge González, on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Internal Security, Mr. Edwin Féliz Brito; Yovanis Baltazar, civil governor of San Pedro de Macorís and Noel Cedeño, mayor of the Guayacanes municipality.
During the meeting, priority issues related to citizen security, the protection of women, the improvement of community services, among others, were addressed.
In addition, action plans were presented that include prevention programs, strengthening of public lighting and inter -institutional coordination to effectively meet the needs of the communities.
Other officials, institutional representatives, community leaders and personalities of the living forces of the province also participated in the activity.
The participating authorities reiterated their commitment to monitor the agreements reached at the table, promoting comprehensive and sustainable security policies that contribute to the welfare of the population. They also highlighted the importance of citizen participation as a key element to achieve effective and durable results.
