During the Partners for a Greener Tomorrow event, the European Union and its Member States in Paraguay presented the Green Initiative of Team Europe “Green Alliance for Paraguay”. Team Europe will support Paraguay towards a greener and more efficient economy. With numerous actions contemplated by the initiative, they will foster a more competitive and sustainable production, promote water and sanitation management, and preserve forests and biodiversity in Paraguay.
The Team Europe Green Initiative aims to address global challenges such as climate change, growing inequalities and digital innovation; as well as generating connections for a more efficient and modern economy. The actions of Team Europe in the country are focused on three sectors: forests and biodiversity, sustainable production (including circular economy) and water and sanitation.
“Today we present this new challenge, where we put the green issue as a priority because we know, like those present, that green businesses are good businesses. The path of sustainability is profitable. Reduce costs by using resources more efficiently, generate growth opportunities and promote innovation. In addition, it improves the reputation of companies and the competitiveness of countries,” he said. Javier García de Viedma, ambassador of the European Union in Paraguay.
