Authorities apprehended 185 people during the last 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, the security forces placed 2,094 infractions against the Traffic Regulations, in turn, 7 packages of illicit substances were confiscated, in addition, some 185 people were apprehended through “Operation Genesis 2022” developed at the national level.

Of these 90 were for trades, 76 for administrative offenses, 10 for flagrancy and 08 for microtrafficking and 01 capture for drug trafficking. As well as, 106 livestock recovered in Penonomé, 35 foreigners who did not maintain their legal immigration documents.

During these operations, 38 raids were carried out in the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste, Colón, Chiriquí, among other sectors of the country, achieving the seizure of 07 firearms, 25 ammunition, and the recovery of 2 vehicles that had a complaint. Three aeromedical evacuations were carried out from the Piedra Roja community, Comarca Ngäbe Buglé, and in David, province of Chiriquí, respectively.

The units of the National Directorate of Traffic Operations placed a total of 2,094 infractions for breaching the Traffic Regulations, among which 547 stand out for speeding and 176 for inadequate lights, 89 for proven drunkenness, 45 expired licenses, 20 breath alcohol, 18 for talking on the cell phone. 186 towing vehicles in cranes.

“Operation Genesis 2022” continues to guarantee healthy coexistence by counteracting organized crime and delinquency through the coordination of the joint work of the Security Establishments.
