Authorities and residents of Sagua de Tánamo search for two men missing after a river flood

Authorities and volunteers continue search efforts in the municipality of Sagua de Tánamo, Holguín, to find the whereabouts of two men who disappeared this week.

According to him newspaper Nowit is about Antonio Angulo Caballero, 74, and Luis Pérez Rodríguez, 64, missing since October 22 and 23, respectively.

According to official information, Antonio Angulo Caballero, a resident of the El Jobo Popular Council, was last seen when he went out to work on his farm, in the town of Miguel. When he did not return, his relatives notified the authorities.

For his part, Pérez Rodríguez, a UEB Correos worker and resident of the Ciudad Sur Popular Council, left for the town of Zabala.

The authorities reported that a witness saw a person with similar characteristics crossing a bridge covered by waterwhose current could have carried him away.

Since the moment of the reports, teams from the Rescue Unit of the municipality of Moa, together with volunteers from the Red Cross, family, friends and neighbors in the area, have joined the search actions.

Local authorities reported this Friday that The river has returned to its natural channel, which has facilitated tracing efforts.

They also clarified that the cases are not related to Tropical Storm Melissa that currently threatens the center and east of the country.
