The National Electoral Institute (INE) has so far received 11 million 97 thousand 960 signatures from citizens requesting the mandate revocation consultation, among which have been inadequacies or irregularities in 354 thousand 215, for example, that the voting credential presented is invalid, illegible, the photo is blurred or belongs to another person
.
According to a report made public by the INE on the last day of 2021, up to now one million 488 thousand 636 signatures have been authenticated, in two reviews, and the rest are pending verification. This figure represents 53.97 percent of the 2 million 758 thousand 227 necessary to carry out this consultation.
César Cravioto, senator from Morena, commented that with that mega mattress of signatures that have been collected, due to many irregularities that are detected, nor do they invalidate 8 million votes
.
In fact, he highlighted, In its report, the INE recognizes that the small part that has already reviewed and confirmed that the signatures are authentic represents half of the 3 percent of the country’s electoral roll that is required to carry out the consultation, that is, just over 2 million 800 thousand signatures
.
The INE details that of the 11 million 97 thousand 960 signatures, 12.4 percent were collected electronically, and 9 million 715 thousand 929, through written format.
It specifies that of one million 382 thousand 31 signatures sent electronically, 117 thousand 976 coincided with the nominal list and 264 thousand 235 presented inconsistencies. Among the most repeated are that the photo on the credential does not match the original; neither do the front and back or a photocopy of the document was presented.
The INE also highlights that of 2 million 456 thousand 510 applications submitted in physical format (paper) that complied with the first review, 89 thousand 980 had irregularities, including duplication of signatures or support without signature or fingerprint.
Each of the more than 11 million signatures will be reviewed in order to authenticate them.
