Ecuadorians between 18 and 30 years old can benefit from incentives to apply for a study or work visa.
The Embassy of Ecuador in Australia reported that the Prime Minister of that country, Scott Morrison, called on international students and potential applicants for the Work and Holidays Visa scheme to work and visit their country.
According to Morrison “those who enter Australia with a visa students or work Y holidays, from January 19, 2022, the cost of the visa will be refunded, in order to encourage more students and workers to go to Australia«.
These conditions will be maintained for eight weeks. A refund of 495 Australian dollars ($350) will be made for the visa work and vacation, and 630 ($447) for the visa from students.
The Prime Minister also indicated that they want visitors to come to Australia and enjoy your holidays and “move throughout the territory and, at the same time, join our workforce”.
labor shortage, repeated in other developed countries, is one of the main reasons for the Australian authorities to implement these incentives. It is estimated that Australia will welcome 175,000 students and applicants from the work and holiday visa.
The Federal Government allocated three million Australian dollars to “Tourism Australia”, in order to support a marketing program to attract more students and backpackers.
On the other hand, the Government announced the temporary lifting of the limit on hours of job paid for foreign students, which was 40 hours per fortnight.
Staff shortages and supply problems have caused the number of hours to be extended. This decision has been positively received by part of the student population, whose only income comes from their work.
The Embassy of Ecuador in Australia pointed out that those who apply to the work and holiday visa, they must obtain a previous sponsorship letter from the Directorate of Visas and Naturalizations, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, to obtain the same, and thus they will be able to take advantage of the situation and relaxation of the rules to enter that country.
