The Olympic Games were inaugurated on July 26 in Paris, the capital of France, where Bolivia is represented by four athletes:swimmers Maria Jose Ribera and Esteban Nunez del Prado, as well as athletes Guadalupe Torrez and Hector Garibay.

Then it will be the turn of the sprinter Guadalupe Tórrez, who will take part in the 100-meter race. The preliminary round will take place on Friday, August 2, starting at 4:35 (HB).

The best mark of the 23-year-old from Santa Cruz is 11 seconds and 57 hundredths (11”57). Torrez is trained by Carmelo Suarez.

On Saturday, August 3, he will make his debut at the Olympic Games María José Ribera, who will swim the 50-meter freestyle. The first series of this test will begin at 5:00 (HB).

The best record of the 27-year-old from Santa Cruz is 25 seconds and 73 hundredths (25”73). His coach is Yassir Abdalla.

The last Bolivian to participate in Paris 2024 will be the long-distance runner Hector Garibay, who will compete in the marathon to be held on Saturday, August 10, at 2:00 (HB).

The 36-year-old from Oruro has a best time of two hours, eight minutes and 23 seconds (2h08’23”) for his event. He is trained by Nemia Coca.
