The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) intimate this Monday to the adviser of the National Party in the House of Representatives, Diego Camponovo, for using symbology of the No to the repeal of the law of urgent consideration (LUC) in the shirt of the Uruguayan national teaminformed Ignacio Alonso to The Observer.
The militant posted on his social networks a photograph in which the light blue shirt appears hanging with the word “no” stamped on the chest. The post was later deleted from social media.
Alonso had overtaken The Observer that the association would begin to monitor more carefully the “improper use of symbology” to avoid the use of the t-shirt with the shield of the AUF in the political-partisan acts. Once the complaint reached the integrity of the body, they decided to make the summons.
As he stressed, this measure had already been applied last Tuesday during the match between Uruguay and Venezuela at the Centenario Stadium: “We prevented several posters that were getting into the stadium with referendum banners and everything related to that.”
For all cases where there is a “improper use” – he explained – the appeal will be filed. “If you are wearing an AUF shirt, with the symbol, the shield, we are not going to allow it.either with the Yes or with the No”, insisted the president.
The association is already working on monitoring the next game against Peru, which will be played on March 24, three days before the referendum. “On March 24, when we play the match, we are going to put everything. There the two bars are going to be very anxious,” the hierarch estimated.
