Between 2019 and the end of August 2024, The treasury obtained 3.5 billion pesos from audits and compliance promotion, amount 120% higher than in the previous six-year term.
Of these resources, 1.426 billion pesos were obtained from audits of large taxpayers; 1.087 billion from audits of small and medium-sized taxpayers, the SAT detailed in a statement on Monday.
989,182 million pesos were obtained from compliance promotion, considering single payments in 2024, per taxpayer and payment date.
The tax authorities highlighted the work they have done to prevent taxpayers from engaging in aggressive tax planning, as well as to increase the perception of risk among large taxpayers due to this type of measures.
“To this end, audits are scheduled with a more assertive approach and shorter inspection times; self-correction and timely collection are encouraged; and verification of the application of balances in favor of the value added tax (VAT) is reinforced,” said the SAT.
“Thanks to this, tax revenues have increased without raising taxes or creating new ones, thereby ensuring a level playing field in the collection of contributions,” he added.
