Court will analyze this case
The revelations become important, after the president of the Court and the Federal Judiciary Council (CJF), Arturo Zaldívar, guaranteed on January 12 that the plenary ministers will impartially resolve this matter and at a time when the Plenary is ready to discuss this matter.
On Monday, January 10, Zaldívar Lelo de Larrea appeared at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), in Mexico City, to speak about the 2021 reform of the Judiciary, and when the question session began, the first to take the microphone it was Alonso Castillo Cuevas, son of the accused.
“My mother is serving 453 days illegally imprisoned by the Attorney General of the Republic, who on November 11 (2021), when the First Collegiate Court in criminal matters was about to deliberate on my mother’s matter, and when we had won the amparos, the prosecutor asked the Supreme Court to bring the case,” he charged at the time.
Castillo mentioned that more than 60 days had passed since the SCJN received the case —in which Laura Morán Servín and Alejandra Cuevas Morán, mother and daughter, are accused of being responsible for the death of Federico Gertz Manero—, and they have not received response from the high court.
His sister, Ana Paula Castillo Cuevas, even approached Minister Zaldívar and knelt: “There is nothing, Minister! Where are the laws? If she was his mom, what would she do? (…) I beg you, mercy! ”, She cried.
The Court has already listed the sentencing projects prepared by Minister Alberto Pérez Dayán. One of them, promoted by Laura Morán Servín against the acts of the Sixty-Seventh Criminal Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City, on the arrest warrant issued on October 2, 2020, in criminal case 190/2020 .
And the second appeal, promoted by Alejandra Cuevas Morán regarding the unitary resolution of last February 22, issued by the Fourth Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City in criminal case 69/2020.
