A capacity of 80% is what, until now, school buses will be allowed to transport students to educational centers starting next March 7, when the school year begins.
Carlos Ordoñez, general director in charge of the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT), met with officials from the ministries of Education, Health, National Police and representatives of the National Chamber of National Transportation (Canatracol), in order to establish the capacity and biosecurity measures and other requirements that owners and drivers of school transport must meet, with a view to returning to classes 2022.
The carriers asked the authorities to reconsider the percentage of capacity to achieve 100%, but for this the behavior of Covid-19 in the country must be analyzed.
Other requirements are the use of masks and face shields for students and establishing areas in schools to pick up students.
Meanwhile, as of February 13, the inspections carried out by the ATTT on the school buses will begin to verify compliance with safety regulations and the mechanical condition of the school children.
In the capital city, the inspections will be carried out in the parking lots of the Rommel Fernández stadium.
