The Attorney General’s Office announced this Sunday the opening of a preliminary inquiry against officials to determine the Putumayo governorate and the Mayor’s Office of Oritofor alleged irregularities in the bidding process of a contract for the implementation of Sustainable agroforestry systems in Asaí production ” $ 25,572 million.
According to the control agency, the investigation seeks to establish whether a possible involvement of public assets was presented, taking into account the high amount of the agreement. According to the initial information, the servers involved would have unknown the requirements for the legalization of the contract, as well as the obligations of surveillance and control in the investment of state resources.

The Attorney General’s Office also indicated that within the framework of the inquiry will be verified if there was violation of the principles of Planning, objective selection, free concurrence and public moralitywhich govern the hiring processes in the public administration.
In that sense, the Public Ministry ordered the collection of evidence in order to individualize the alleged perpetrators of the aforementioned behaviors and determine if these could constitute disciplinary offenses.
The contract in question is part of a strategy to promote Asaí’s production through agroforestry systems, a project that, according to local authorities, sought to promote environmental and economic sustainability in the region. However, the magnitude of the resources and the alleged irregularities in the adjudication process ignited the alerts of the control body.

The Procuraduría recalled that this type of research is part of their preventive and disciplinary workwhose objective is to guarantee the correct use of public resources and transparency in the management of state servers.
With this process, the agency seeks to clarify the facts and establish whether or not there was a lack in the management of resources for productive projects in the department of Putumayo.
