The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Thursday that the women accused of sexually abusing a seven-year-old boy in the state of Lara are in Colombia.

At a press conference, the prosecutor said “we are requesting a red alert from Interpol so that they are returned and subjected to the fullest weight of the law.”

It indicated that due to the increase in crimes of sexual abuse against children and adolescents, the Public Ministry decided to promote measures to punish these crimes more harshly.

Reform of the LOPNNA

In this sense, he announced that the Public Ministry is preparing a proposal to reform the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPNNA), which is fundamentally focused on updating crimes of a sexual nature perpetrated against children and adolescents. teenagers.

This reform -he said- will include an aggravating circumstance for atrocious crimes that will establish that in cases in which it is considered so, the maximum limit of the sentence attributed to the crime for which the perpetrator is accused must be sentenced.

He explained that it also establishes an increase in penalties for crimes of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, as well as the dissemination or exhibition of pornographic material, provided for in the Special Law Against Computer Crimes

“I think it is time to review whether some extremely serious crimes do not deserve a sentence of more than 30 years in prison, without any procedural benefits,” he said.

In this regard, he indicated that he considers it necessary to open a debate on the maximum penalties applicable in the country, for which it would be necessary to make an amendment to some articles of the Constitution and the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure.

Identified abusers

On Wednesday, the Cicpc reported that they are already identified three of the four women who had themselves recorded while abusing a child. These are two aunts and the minor’s grandmother.

Aldimar Alina Lucena Páez (25), Katherine Solcari Lucena Páez (30) and Yelitza Elena Páez (54). A fourth woman and the man who made the recording remain to be identified.
