The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, received this Wednesday the “Doctor Carlos Escarra” Municipal Award from the Libertador Municipality.
Through your account at the social network Twitter, Saab stated that the recognition was given for the fight undertaken by the Public Ministry (MP) in defense of human rights.
The decoration is framed in the National Day of the Lawyer.
The “Carlos Escarrá” award was given for the first time in 2015 and bears the name of the lawyer and political scientist, who passed away in January 2012.
Escarrá is known for being a promoter of laws of popular power, such as the Law of Communal Councils, of the Federal Council of Government, in addition to the one corresponding to the Administrative Litigation Jurisdiction and the reform of the Law of the Supreme Court of Justice.
Last year, the National Assembly approved to create the Order “Dr. Carlos Escarrá Malavé”. This award will aim to “recognize the work of the Communal Councils that stand out in projects for the socio-economic development of the nation.”
