The attorney General of the Republic, Miriam Germán Brito, celebrates this Sunday his birthday 76. The official received a very special congratulation from the body, which highlighted her “career and integrity.”
Germán Brito celebrates another year of life and he does so by directing the Public Ministrywork carried out at the special request of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, as he had announced his intentions to leave office, in which he has been since August 17, 2020.
It was in January of last 2023 when the magistrate announced in an interview with Free Diary his decision to leave Attorney General’s Office. Then, when the president submitted the constitutional reformwhich was already approved and promulgated, he asked her to continue in the position, to which she accepted days later. The head of state made the request since the reform he submitted included changes in the Public Ministry and she understood that she was essential to execute them. The modification to the Magna Carta included changes in the National Council of the Judiciary.
“I do not aspire to anything after this… if I arrive or they let me reach the end… of this period. If my health and all my things allow me, I deliver to the new governmenton the 24th. I’m 75 years old and then I’ll be 76, and you can’t do that much,” said Germán Brito on the occasion.
Miriam German Brito was born on December 8, 1948 in Salcedoprovince Mirabal Sisters. She was presiding judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice from December 2011 to April 2019.
