The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, received this Wednesday at the headquarters of the Public Ministry the lawyer of the former presidential candidate and wanted person Edmundo González Urrutia.
This was reported by the head of the criminal action in the country on his social networks, where he detailed that in his “capacity as Attorney General of the Republic, I have received Dr. José Vicente Haro, in his capacity as representative of the citizen required by the Venezuelan justice system, Edmundo González Urrutia, who gave me a communication on his behalf.”
The prosecutor said that both the lawyer and the far-right González Urrutia “recognized the constitutional and legal powers of the Public Prosecutor’s Office as the holder of criminal proceedings to undertake and develop the appropriate investigations.”
“Tomorrow we will reveal the whole truth,” he said.
González Urrutia washes his hands
The former candidate of the opposition extremists said that he had nothing to do with the website resultadosconvzla.com, a site that published the allegedly forged minutes of the results of the presidential election of July 28, according to his legal representative, José Vicente Haro.
Speaking to the media earlier, Haro said that the publication was a “civic and citizen action.” However, the National Electoral Council, according to the laws of the Venezuelan State, is the governing body and the only entity authorized to give electoral results.
On the other hand, according to the lawyer, “Mr. Edmundo González Urrutia has not requested asylum from any duly accredited embassy in Venezuela.”
