Learn when they won’t work and how to prepare to avoid setbacks.
News Colombia.
During February, thousands of users of digital financial services in Colombia must prepare for temporary interruptions in two of the most used platforms in the country: Nequi and Bancolombia. The measure responds to scheduled technical maintenance that seeks to improve the stability, security and performance of its systems.
Although there has been talk of “three days without service”, in reality it is not a continuous suspension. They are specific windows, mainly at night and early morning, where some functions will no longer be available.
When will the main suspension be
The most important cut will be made:
- Since the 10:30 pm on Saturday, February 21
- Until 3:30 am on Sunday, February 22
During this period, the greatest limitation of services between both platforms will occur.
Additionally, during the month other short maintenance windows were scheduled at night, with partial effects on certain digital operations.
During the main suspension, users may have difficulty performing operations such as:
- Transfers between Nequi and Bancolombia
- Payments through QR codes linked to Bancolombia accounts
- Some immediate digital operations
- Reception of certain electronic movements in Nequi
These limitations will be temporary and will be restored once maintenance is completed.
What will continue to work?
Despite the interruption, several services will continue to be active:
- Access to applications
- ATM withdrawals
- Payments with physical cards
- Some previously recorded transactions
This means that users’ money is not at risk, since it is not a failure but a programmed technical process.
Recommendations to avoid inconveniences
Given these temporary suspensions, it is recommended:
- Make important transfers before maintenance hours
- Avoid leaving urgent payments until early morning
- Have an alternative payment method available
- Consult the official channels of the entities if you have any questions
Planning is key to avoid setbacks during these technical breaks.
Context: necessary maintenance on digital platforms
Financial entities periodically carry out these processes to strengthen their systems against the growth of users and digital transactions. This type of maintenance improves the speed of operations, reinforces security and prevents future failures.
Although they generate momentary discomfort, they are part of the normal functioning of large-scale digital platforms.
