¡Atención Adulto Mayor!: Prosperidad Social anunció reactivación de pagos para primer ciclo de 2023

Attention Senior Citizens!: Social Prosperity announced the reactivation of the payments corresponding to the first cycle of 2023.

Starting next week, Colombia Mayor payments for the months of January and February 2023 will begin, through the payment operator Super Giros.

News Colombia.

This week, Social Prosperity announced the reactivation of several population subsidies, including the Colombia Mayor program, although they did not report exact dates, they announced that payments will be transferred starting next week.

It should be noted that this is the first incentive of the year corresponding to the months of January and February 2023.

For this year, as a novelty, the payment operator will no longer be “Su Red” that fulfilled the function until 2022, now it goes to “Super Giros”.

“Payment begins Thursday with the retroactive and the same for the other Youth in Action program, for the moment as it is maintained while they grant us the legal capacity for the development plan, we redesign all these programs,” Cielo explained. Rusinque Urrego.

The Government unified the value of the monthly subsidy of Colombia Mayor at 80,000 pesos per month throughout the country.

Also, Rusinque added that possibly the Colombia Mayor program will become part of the pension reform as a guarantee of a decent income for this population group.

Who can enroll in the Colombia Mayor program?

The requirements to register as an older adult are 4 fundamental points:

  • Being Colombian
  • Having resided in the national territory for the last 10 years.
  • Being at least three years younger than the age required to retire for old age, currently 54 for women and 59 for men.
  • Lack of income or sufficient income to subsist. According to SISBEN IV, all levels of groups A, B and C up to group C1 are taken.

Where can they register?

  • The older adult approaches the mayor’s office of his municipality with his physical citizenship card.

In most of the territorial entities, the procedure is carried out in the Office of Attention to the Elderly, in the city of Bogotá it is carried out in the Local Branches of the Secretariat of Social Integration, former COL.

  • The person responsible for the procedure at the municipal or district mayor’s office verifies compliance with the requirements by reviewing their physical citizenship card and completing the registration in the Information System of Colombia Mayor.
  • Subsequently, through the crossing with external databases, it is verified and validated that the registered citizen does not receive any pension or receives income.
  • Through the system, the information of the potential beneficiaries is processed to whom the prioritization criteria are applied, which determine the order to assign places once they are available.
  • The prioritization lists are essential because each municipality has a number of places established for the program; to the extent that these are released, the assignment is made following in strict order the shifts assigned in each cycle.

At the moment, government unified the value of the monthly subsidy for Colombia Mayor at 80,000 pesos per month throughout the country.
