OnCubaNews

The young man arrested for attacking three New York City police officers with a machete on New Year’s Eve was on the FBI’s radar and had been interviewed by its agents in the weeks leading up to the attack, according to CNN.

Trevor Bickford, 19, had indicated that he wanted to travel abroad to help other Muslims. His family reported him to the Wells, Maine, Police Department in December after saying he wanted to join the Taliban.

He was later interviewed by FBI agents and placed on the terrorist watch list.

Bickford approached an officer on Saturday night, December 31, and struck him over the head with a machete. He then repeated the act with two other officers.

An officer shot him in the shoulder, the Police Department said. The three injured officers were released from the hospital on Sunday.

The young man was arrested on charges of attempted murder of officers, according to New York City police. He also faces charges of attempted assault.

Police sources said investigators found a journal of hers containing her last will and testament, including burial instructions.

The incident is being investigated as a possible terrorist attack, ABC News reported.
