Thanks to this result, Galo needs just a simple victory to advance to the final of the competition. The Minas Gerais team will meet the Ecuadorians again next Tuesday (28), starting at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in Belo Horizonte.
Playing away from home, Atlético-MG came out at a disadvantage. Six minutes into the first half, the referee awarded a penalty for a foul committed inside the area by Ruan on Patrik Mercado. Midfielder Junior Sornoza hit with class and gave goalkeeper Everson no chance.

Coach Jorge Sampaoli’s team did not miss out on the match and sought a draw until the end. And he came 45 minutes into the final stage. Dudu created a beautiful one-two with Hulk before touching the ball into the goal defended by Villar to score his first goal for Galo and secure an important draw.
