Atlético de Madrid (4th) returned to the ‘Champions zone’ after drawing 1-1 in Almería (13th) this Sunday in the 17th round of the League, in which Espanyol (14th), with a great goal from Joselu from midfield, beat Getafe (15th) 2-1 to escape relegation.

Atlético took the lead with a goal from Ángel Correa (18), but El Bilal Touré equalized with a header (32) in a match, in which Atlético had chances to increase their tally but found the good performance of goalkeeper Fernando.

The tie allowed Atlético to get into the Champions League positions of the Spanish championship, while Almería continues to take steps to move away from the relegation places, from which Espanyol left this Sunday.

The Barcelona team took the lead with the wonder of Joselu from midfield (6), but barely a minute later Enes Unal equalized for Getafe with a shot from the top corner (7) and Javier Puado made it 2-1 with a lob over the departure of David Soria (62).

Espanyol ended up prevailing in an even match, after which Getafe remains only two points behind the relegation places. The ‘perico’ team managed to get out of the relegation zone, into which they put Sevilla, who fell 2-1 on Saturday in the Girona field.

The Real Madrid-Valencia and Betis-Barcelona matches have been postponed, after participating these four teams this week in the Spanish Super Cup, which takes place in Riyadh.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will play the final for the trophy this Sunday in the Saudi capital.
