Atlánticos hit first in the semifinal series of Probeis

A 4-scoring rally in the bottom of the fourth inning was decisive for the Atlánticos de Bocas del Toro and Colón to beat the Águilas Metropolitanas 8 runs to 1 in the first game of the semifinal series of the Panamanian Professional Baseball League (Probeis) which takes place at Rod Carew Stadium.

Los Atlánticos deployed an attack of 13 hits and 8 scores to support the pitching staff started by Yusniel Padrón who worked 3 full innings and only allowed 2 hits, struck out 3 and gave a walk, he was replaced by Juan Jaime who shot 1.2 innings, giving up a run, a hit and allowed 4 bases on balls, the third pitcher and in the end the game winner was Julio Dennis who threw 2.1 innings without allowing hits or runs and fanned out to 3 batters and closed the batch Luis Machuca who worked 2 complete innings where he only gave up one hit and struck out 2 opponents.

In total there were eight runs, thirteen unstoppables and the Atlantics did not make mistakes, scoring one run in the first inning, one in the second, four in the fourth inning and two more in the eighth inning. The Eagles scored their only run in the fifth inning, had four hits and made an error on the field.

The best with the bat were Joshwan Wright from 4-1 a triple, with two RBIs and one scored; Edgar Muñoz 5-3 with two runs scored; Luis Castillo was 5-2 with two doubles, one RBI and Enrique Valdez was 2-2 with a triple, one scored and one RBI.

For the Metropolitan Eagles, Ariel Serrano 4-1, a run pushed; Gerald Chin 3-1 with a run scored; Jairo Carrillo and Ozziel Sánchez both 3-1. The losing pitcher was Luis Ramos who in 3 complete innings allowed 6 hits, 4 runs, fanned out 3 and awarded 1 walk.

With this result, the Atlánticos are one game away from winning the semifinal series and advancing to the Grand Final of Probeis, while the Águilas are bound to win the game this Wednesday, January 11 at Rod Carew Stadium, which has a start time. At seven o’clock at night, the winner of this key faces the Chiriquí Federales to determine who will be the representative of Panama in the 2023 Caribbean Series.
