The Athlon-SP Institute won the Brazilian Men’s Goalball Championship title for the first time. In the decision, the team beat IRM-PR by a score of 5 to 4, last Sunday (9), at the Paralympic Training Center, in São Paulo.

“It’s a great emotion to win this unprecedented title and also score the winning goal. It was a balanced match from start to finish, and this result crowns all the work we have done over the last few years”, said Emerson, the scorer of the decisive goal for Instituto Athlon-SP.
The women’s title went to SESI-SP, who beat ICEMAT-MT 3-0 to guarantee their eighth title in the competition (after triumphing in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2019, 2017, 2016 and 2013). The detail is that the teams re-edited the 2024 final, an opportunity in which Sesi triumphed 9-0.
“Meeting ICEMAT again in this final is really cool because it’s a team that has been playing as well as us. The lower score than last year required more patience and concentration, and we managed to maintain that”, declared Daniele Longhini, SESI-SP’s left wing.
Organized by the Brazilian Confederation of Sports for the Visually Impaired (CBDV), the tournament brought together 12 men’s teams and ten women’s teams.
