The Cuban length jumper Lester Lescay received Spanish nationality after a long administrative process and already has the authorization to represent that country in international competitions of athletics.
The initial step of this new stage was completed in the 2024 finals, when nationality was recognized by marriage, and then the expected approval of World Athletics arrived, an organization that governs athletics in the world, reports A note of the Chain ser.

Lescay, 23, was disconnected from the Cuban Athletics Federation after a competition held in Belgrade in 2022. Then it settled in Spain, where he signed for the Facsa beaches club in Castellón, waiting to complete the procedures to return to the main scenarios under a new flag.
