There was excitement in the last round of Series B of the Brazilian Championship this Sunday (23). Already assured in Série A of the Brasileirão in 2026, Coritiba won its third championship in the Second League with a 2-1 victory over the already relegated Amazonas. Coxa had already lifted the cup in 2007 and 2010. Three clubs secured access today – Athletico-PR, Chapecoense and Remo – out of a total of five teams that had a chance of going to Série A. The biggest highlight was Remo, which ended a 31-year hiatus outside the national football elite.

Chapecoense also did their homework, beating Atlético-GO 1-0. Walter Clar scored the winning goal at Arena Condá. The team from Santa Catarina ended Series B in third place with 62 points.

The last place in the 2026 Brasileirão elite went to Remo, who fought an exciting battle with Goiás, until then in the G4. The team from Pará won 3-1 in front of their fans who filled the Mangueirão. Willlean Lepo opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half, and then had hat trick (three goals) by Pedro Rocha: one goal in the first half and the rest after the break. Remo scored 62 points and Goiás finished in sixth place with one point less.

Relegation
Ferroviária fought against Atletic and Botafogo-SP to avoid finishing in 17th place and ending up relegated to Series C. But that’s what happened. The team from the interior of São Paulo lost away from home to Operário 2-1 and ended up relegated with 40 points. In 16th, outside the relegation zone (Z4), was Botafogo-SP. The team from São Paulo played out a goalless draw and totaled 42 points. Atletic beat already relegated Paysandu 2-1, concluding the championship in 15th place, with 44 points.
Three other teams will play in Series C in 2026: Paysandu, Volta Redonda and Amazonas, whose relegation occurred in the previous rounds.
