Athletes and coaches from 17 countries participate in the Pan American Rhythmic Gymnastics Camp in Panama

The Pan American Rhythmic Gymnastics Camp was inaugurated in this capital, Panama, with the presence of sports authorities and the participation of athletes and coaches from 17 countries.

The president of the Panamanian Gymnastics Federation, Carlos Herrera, pointed out that this activity will strengthen Panamanian gymnastics and its protagonists, coaches and athletes, who will have the opportunity to learn alongside recognized international figures.

This activity, which turns Panama into a capital of gymnastics, has as its main objective the updating of methodologies and technical training of athletes and coaches, Herrera explained.

He added that this camp will help in the development of rhythmic gymnastics on the continent, will strengthen the sporting growth of the participants and increase the ties of friendship between the countries that visit Panama. In addition, the economy of our country was boosted.

Athletes and coaches from countries such as Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, United States, Colombia, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Brazil, Paraguay, Guatemala, Chile, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Panama are participating.

“This camp not only promotes the technical level of athletes, but also cultural and sports exchange between nations,” said Herrera.

Media such as Gimnasia Latina, which cover this event, highlight the participation of international experts, such as the Brazilian coaches Maria Alexandre and Solange Paludo; from Bulgaria, coach Valentina Ivanova and Olympic athlete Stiliana Nikolova, who will share their experience with attendees.

The President of the Panama Olympic Committee, Damaris Young, the Director of Pandeportes, Miguel Ordóñez and Luis Mejía, President of Centro Caribe Sports, also participated in the inauguration last Monday. In addition, Márcia Aversani, President of the CT GR PAGU and Member of the CT GR FIG.

The president of the Panamanian Gymnastics Federation, pointed out that thanks to the management of the Board of Directors of the FPG, with the support and management of the PAGU, through one of the plans it manages for equipment, a Brand Floor was achieved for this camp. Speith for the Rhythmic branch, which will remain in the country for the proper development of the branch.

He thanked Naomi Valenzo, President of the Pan American Gymnastics Union PAGU-PAGU, for making all the efforts for Panama to host this event and for her efforts to obtain the gymnastics floor that will remain in Panama at the end of the camp.

Herrera also mentioned that Panama obtained the venue for the Pan American Team and Club Aerobics Championship, scheduled from November 11 to 20 at the Hotel Panama Convention Center, with the participation of 600 athletes from the continent.

In addition, he announced that the FPG Board of Directors has been working on the organization of three events of great importance and of an international nature for 2025. These are the Pan American Artistic Gymnastics for Seniors, on the way to Los Angeles; the Pan American Open Parkour and the 2025 Congress of the Pan American Gymnastics Union, which will be attended by all the presidents of the continent that develops gymnastics and other events, which will be announced soon.
