They detailed that the protocol acts in commemoration of the Homeland Month begin on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 with the placement of floral offerings, by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, before the Mausoleum of Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero, First President of the Republic in the Amador Cemetery, in El Chorrillo, this to commemorate the Day of the Dead and to honor the heroes of Independence.
They announced that for this solemn act, the Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Eloy Alfaro de Alba, former Ambassador of Panama in Washington, DC, and Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the White House.
On the other hand, to commemorate the separation of Panama from Colombia, the official acts on November 3 will take place in the Presidential Palace, starting with the traditional targets from 5:00 am followed by the raising of the national flag, by the President Cortizo Cohen, who will then deliver the national pavilion to the Official Flag Bearer, Atheyna Bylon, gold medalist at the 2028 and 2022 South American Games. Atheyna is the greatest figure in Panamanian Olympic boxing.
Acts of November 4
On November 4, the protocol acts will be headed by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, who will raise the national flag at the San Felipe Presidential Palace. The Association of Girl Guides of Panama will lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the Republican Band will sing the National Anthem.
President Cortizo Cohen will deliver the national pavilion to the official flag bearer of the National Symbols Day, Santana Trujillo Visuete, “Best producer of Family Farming, Rafael Grajales Medal” for 2022. Santana Trujillo Visuete has a two-hectare farm in the nearby Canal Basin to the Madden dam, where it promotes a productive system of Family Agriculture with economically and environmentally sustainable production of agricultural items and some animal species.
In these official acts, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Gabriel Carrizo Jaén; ministers and deputy ministers of State; directors of Public Security departments; and the Governor of Panama, Carla García, among others.
