At the gates the International Poetry Festival of Havana

festival de poesía de la habana 2023

The 29th edition of the Havana International Poetry Festival will take place from May 22 to 27 in various institutions and spaces in the Cuban capital.

This year, the contest will be dedicated to the centenary of the Cuban poet Fina García Marruz, to the 170th anniversary of José Martí and to the 30th anniversary of the SurEditores Collection.

To welcome this literary event, the CubaPoesía Itinerante meeting will be held on May 19, a space that aims to stimulate affection for this expression with readings throughout the country.

The Festival program later includes multiple activities, including conferences, readings, tributes and book presentations in neighborhoods and schools of the Cuban capital.

Among the spaces that will host the event in Havana are the Fidel Castro Center, the Rubén Martínez Villena room of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Casa del Alba Cultural, the Fayad Jamís bookstore, the Minor Basilica of the San Francisco Convent de Asís and the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center, among others.
