At the end of August, the Federal Government will conclude the registration of all women from 60 to 64 years of age who will be beneficiaries with the Pension Women’s Program, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
In the morning of yesterday in Palacio Nacional, the head of the Ministry of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel, informed that it is estimated that there will be 3.2 million people who will be registered at the end of this month to receive such social support.
The program, in recent months, began with financial support to women 63 and 64; To date, the official added, there are one million 2,58 beneficiaries. Now the goal, and until the end of this month, he said, is to add 2.2 million more to incorporate the 60, 61 and 62 years of age.
“The idea is that at the end of August 3.2 million women (the registration has concluded), which would be the total universe,” said Montiel.
He also said that until the 30th registration is also open so that those who turned 65 (men) can join the Pension for older adults.
Later, when asked about the conclusions of the Regional Conference on the Women of Latin America and the Caribbean, which was held last week in Mexico, President Sheinbaum Pardo said that in the country there is a very wide care system that includes pensions such as that of older adults and people with disabilities. The State, he said, has the responsibility of building a care system that gives women greater autonomy.
“In the case of these, the issue is relevant because historically they have been responsible for family care and actions are required so that they wish, they can join work outside the home,” he added.
