At least two people lost their lives and four more were injured by the explosion of a tanker truck produced at a gas station in the Iturbide neighborhood, city of Tula de Allende, belonging to the Mexican state of Hidalgo, as reported by the Ministry of Public Security ( SSP).
The explosion was reported from a pump, at a service station of the Servifácil brand, located on the highway that connects the city of Tula with the municipality of Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo.
“There are also about sixteen vehicles and a store burned by fire. The incident would have been caused by human error“, explained, providing data, the local Public Security Secretary, Salvador Cruz Neri.

“The state Fire Department is already at the site controlling the fire, as well as state and municipal Civil Protection personnel, reported the Mexican newspaper ‘Milenio’, based in Monterrey.

For his part, the governor of Hidalgo, Julio Ramón Menchaca Salazar, has lamented the deaths and explained that he has ordered “to provide all the necessary attention to relatives of the victims,” the DPA news agency reported.
“I regret the sensitive losses of the people of Hidalgo in the accident that occurred this morning in the town of Iturbe, in Tula de Allende”indicated the governor of Hidalgo.

In the videos captured at the time of the fire, several people are seen running and screaming to get to safety. It is also seen how the explosion shook the surrounding neighborhood and several objects were shot, according to what TV Azteca showed on its screen.
