At least 10 dead and more than 40 injured in missile attack on Ukraine shopping mall

At least ten people died and more than 40 were injured by the impact of a Russian missile on a department store in central Ukraine on Mondayas announced by the regional governor, warning that the balance could worsen.

“Ten dead and more than 40 people were injured. This is the current situation in Kremenchuk because of the missile strike,” said Dmytro Lunin, who heads the Poltava regional government, where he is located. this city that before the war had 220,000 inhabitants.

“The occupants fired a missile at a shopping center where there were more than a thousand civilians. The shopping center is on fire and rescue teams are fighting the fire,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote.

He accompanied his message with a video in which the mall is seen on fire, enveloped in large clouds of smokewith fire trucks and a dozen people on the scene.

In other images released by the rescue services you can see the charred remains of the building with firefighters and cleaning crews at work.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the mall was attacked by Kh-22 anti-ship missiles fired from Tu-22 long-range bombers from the Russian Kursk region.

“The firing of the missile against Kremenchuk reached a popular location unrelated to the hostilities“, indicated on Facebook Vitali Maletsky, mayor of that city, on Facebook.
