With a value of over R$ 1.2 billion, 600 kilometers of highways in the northwest of São Paulo were auctioned this Thursday (15th) on the B3, São Paulo stock exchange. The winning bidder was Ecorodovias, a concessionaire that already manages three stretches in the state.
The lot auctioned this Thursday crosses municipalities in the regions of São José do Rio Preto, Araraquara, São Carlos and Barretos. The proposed amount represented a premium of 16,151.20%.
The successful company will be responsible for expanding, operating, conserving, maintaining and carrying out the necessary investments for 30 years. Investments of R$ 10 billion are foreseen in works and R$ 3.9 billion in operations. The inspection and management of resources will be carried out by the Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (Artesp).
The auction reference value was R$7,609,284.79. Two more companies bid: CCR offered BRL 753.8 million, with a premium of 9,806.95%, and Infraestrutura Brasil Holding XXI, BRL 321.3 million. As the difference between the first and second best offers was more than 10%, there was no dispute with new bids.
“We are aware of the complexity of the public notice, the contract, many new features, but we are sure that it is a great asset for Ecorodovias. It will be able to generate a lot of value for all of us, society, users and shareholders as well”, said the CEO (executive director) of Grupo Ecorodovias, Marcelo Guidotti.
The governor of São Paulo, Rodrigo Garcia, participated in the hammering ceremony, in which he highlighted the goodwill achieved in the auction. According to Garcia, this shows that São Paulo has learned to have a regulatory system that allows the productive sector to trust its actions. “In recent years, in addition to new auctions, we have made an effort to seek, together with the concessionaires, to maintain São Paulo’s good regulatory reputation.”
