At 6:00 pm today, the single dialogue table resumes to address issues of corruption and transparency

The single dialogue table that takes place in Penonomé, Coclé, will resume its sessions starting at 6:00 pm this Wednesday, August 17, with the discussion of item seven on the agenda, which raises the issues of transparency and corruption.

Although progress will be made on this issue, the social groups and the Executive have not reached agreements on issues related to the electricity rate and the situation of the Social Security Fund (CSS).

It should be noted that once this first phase of the dialogue was completed, the The Catholic Church will not participate in the second phase of the single table, therefore, it will not act as a facilitator, as reported by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Roger Tejada.

He added that “the Catholic Church and the leadership of the facilitation team of this table, have indicated through Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa, that they will not continue in this phase two. The National Government would have to find an entity that acts as a facilitator, mediator and conciliator, so that it can attend to the other points that have been established, adding to the dissent”.

The single dialogue table was installed on July 21, after a social crisis was registered in the country for almost a month, due to the high cost of living, among other problems.

Tejada indicated that although all the sectors, which are not yet integrated, will be able to participate in phase 2 of the single dialogue table, they will not be able to intervene and change the measures already agreed upon.

“After touching on this entire series of agreements that are part of that phase one, it is up to us now in this recess, when we return, to see corruption and transparency,” said the Vice Minister of Labor.
