Oswaldo Mackenzie, former Barranquilla midfielder for Junior and Atlético Nacional, scored a “10” graduating as an academic bachelor.
At 49 years of age, the former soccer player received his diploma from the directors of the Francisco José de Caldas Educational Institution, a school located in the municipality of Soledad, Atlántico.
In that educational center, Mackenzie finished his studies, which he had abandoned to become a soccer player, a sports career that demands a lot of discipline and time to practice. Those close to Mackenzie assure that as a teenager, they put aside their books and notebooks to go after the ball, the one that would give him several titles at a professional level with the shark box and the Antioquia green.

It is for this reason that the rector Roberto Sanjuanelo decided to grant him the title of ‘Bachiller Emeritus’, as a reward for his effort to advance his career as a soccer player.
The Alumni Association of the Francisco José de Caldas Educational Institute, congratulated the former Junior and Atlético Nacional player for achieving this new achievement in his life: “El Nene Mackenzie” is a Caldista graduate. Congratulations!” read a post on Facebook.
Now Mackenzie wants to be able to continue studying in a technical or university degree.
Nor does the former soccer player rule out that he can take the technical director course to command a Colombian professional soccer club from the bench, as have other of his former teammates.
