A report from the National Intelligence Directorate sent to the prosecutor Gabriela Fossati, in charge of the Alejandro Astesiano case, follows six leaders of the Police, the Republican Guard, Firefighters and the Rocha Police, for links with the former presidential custodian accused of allegedly coordinating a large network of passport sales steps to Russian citizens, operated from the Executive Tower.
The report, dated October 14, says that all the information extracted from Astesiano’s phone was sent to Fossati, which was obtained through the UFED (Universal Forensic Extraction Device) software, but also that data could be obtained from Astesiano’s phone. other defendants and six police officers.
Between May and September, less than two weeks after being arrested, Astesiano had several exchanges with the clerk AF to negotiate the obtaining of passports for a certain number of Russian citizens not yet determined.
Astesiano refers to the Ministry of the Interior and the Chancellery of the Republic on several occasions, asserting that he has contact with “the 1 of the ministry”, which would allow him to access certain documents. However, on September 6, when communication was cut off, they were unable to obtain the documents that they would have been negotiating.
Apparently, they have carried out other procedures in the past, but this time —the one they are supposedly negotiating between May and September— it is “easier” because “it only depends on the Ministry of the Interior and the Foreign Ministry” because the passports they are processing are diplomatic and not common.
At another point, the former custodian points out: “Tomorrow at 11 o’clock I have to go to the ministry, I’m going to go to the ministry to tell him something because I’m not going to lie to the guy, do you understand? What’s more, we don’t know what time we arrive. I want to go to the ministry and tell him something clear. Am I going to lie to you? Dislike”. In another exchange, he assures: “He is going to fix it, I already tell you that it takes two or three days, four days. Besides, it’s number 1 and he’s going to do it right there. He goes for Chancery”.
The clerk names two of his alleged clients, whom he names as Alexey and Igor, who refuse to add more money to what they have paid, and Astesiano replies that he managed to get the documentation delivered to him for “only eight lucas”, of those who already have five but are missing three.
Links to law enforcement officials remain to be confirmed, as well as a determination as to whether or not they are related to the fake passport ring. Days ago, two police officers were summoned to testify, but they refused to testify on the grounds that the prosecutor did not allow them access to the case file.
