Judge Patricia Rodríguez dismissed prosecutor Gabriela Fossati’s request to issue eight Interpol red alert orders because “information was lacking,” reported Montevideo Portal and confirmed The Observer. Rodríguez asked the prosecutor to provide more details to justify the request, judicial sources told The Observer.
Fossati had come to request eight alerts and had a folder to request more, according to what she herself said at the hearing held on Friday, the content of which was disseminated The Observer.
In that context, he had given details of the complex investigation that he is carrying out and the volume of information that he must analyze. He said that while she is reading “18 hours a day,” he has yet to read even 0.5% of the information available to him. “We are missing hundreds of documents from the National Directorate of Civil Identification and all those from the Civil Registry,” she added.
