Astesiano Case: Juan Gómez says that those who access information in the Prosecutor's Office "they are trustworthy people" by Fossati

The investigation into the case of former head of presidential custody Alejandro Astesiano “will not be able to come to an end because the stones are permanent,” said the prosecutor in the case Gabriela Fossati in an audio that the magistrate sent to a journalist and that was leaked, as reported by the Legitimate Defense program and reported by La Diaria.

In the audio, to which he had access The Observer, Fossati said that “The information leaks are from all the ministries, from the Presidency, from the Prosecutor’s Office” Because, as he considered, the investigation coming to an end is not in anyone’s interest, “let it be clear,” he said. According to his vision, the people who do care are because they seek to “get political gain” of the subject and “the others are not interested”. The magistrate said that who “eventually made mistakes”, but who have to help her in her investigation (a task that is mainly carried out by the Police), “what they do is dirty my back”he claimed.

The court prosecutor, Juan Gómez, told Radio Universal on February 9 that he carried out an investigation to find out if any official of the Prosecutor’s Office had leaked chats or other information about the investigation to Astesiano and that no indications were found that this happened.

“We made the inquiries and yesterday the prosecutor was informed of which people have entered those folders: what day at what time,” he said. “That is what we can do and, obviously, we did not find any situation that calls us attention, without prejudice to the opinion that the prosecutor has and, in that case, we will do what must be done to continue if there is any investigation, if any of the people who appear entering that investigative file should not have entered ”, reported at the time.

Asked about Fossati’s audio in which he affirms that information from ministries, the Presidency and the Prosecutor’s Office is being leaked, Gómez told El Observador that he does not know if these affirmations were made before or after his investigation and that the people who agreed (and access ) to the investigative folder “they are trusted by the prosecutor”, because they are part of the team.

“All the traceability of what enters, who enters, if someone enters who does not have to, is there. How is it going to leak from someone trusted by the prosecutor in the case? Those who have access are the people who work with her But, as there is a new statement, let’s see, as he talks about leaks from the Prosecutor’s Office, I don’t know if it is prior to the investigation.”

Regarding Fossati’s statements about the “stones” that do not allow her to end her investigation and the “clear signs” that they want to “nail her with the bad results of an investigation”, Gómez chose not to comment, nor did she of “affairs of other institutions”.
