The new board of directors of the Association of Suppliers of Electrical Materials (Asume) for the period 2024-2026, headed by Jose Amaury Fuertescommitted to supplying quality materials that comply with the regulations of the electrical sector, as well as strengthening the union.
He said that the “Juntos por el Progreso” directive will prioritize strengthening relations with key entities, to ensure that the supply of electrical materials meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

He explained that the actions planned to achieve this objective include cooperation with the Unified Council of Distribution Companies (CUED), Electricity Distribution Companies (EDEs) and other entities in the sector.
He said the aim is to promote effective collaboration to ensure that electrical materials supplied to users, electrical contractors and their associations meet the quality standards required for safe and efficient energy distribution.
Alliances with the Ministry of Housing, Indocal, ProConsumidor and the Fire Departmentconstitute a second action.
He said that a constant channel of collaboration will be established with these entities, to reinforce safety in electrical installations, guaranteeing the use of certified and high-quality materials.
The third action will be with Customs, to address tax evasion and promote fair trade practices. He said that the aim will be to improve tariff rates on electrical products that still face high tariffs, by ensuring that they are better aligned with the principles of a globalized economy. All three actions seek to reduce costs, he stressed.
