The union organization, which defends the rights of retirees and pensioners abroad, has been fighting since 2016, in the face of the negligent action of the Nicolás Maduro regime for serving this sector.
The Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Venezuela in Madrid held the respective election of a new board of directors for the statutory period 2022-2024.
In an event held in the auditorium of the Nuestra Señora de Las Delicias parish, in Madrid, Spain; the new representatives of the union organization were elected by acclamation of all the members.
The flag of the Association has been taken by Patricia Torres, who in the previous board of directors successfully served as Secretary and who has carefully directed the assistance to the beneficiaries of the Food Delivery Plan.
Along with her, they were also elected: Iván Andrade, as vice president; Elizabeth Núñez, in the Secretary; the Treasury was left to Donald Wilhem; Víctor Suárez, in the position of Institutional Relations; while the vocals were in charge of Williams Parra and Roberto Chumaceiro; Idalmis Carballoza and Alida Cedeño, as Substitute Member.
In this sense, Patricia Torres thanked the support expressed at the beginning of this new stage, both in the general assembly and in the social networks of the Association.
“To all of you, I respect and need you,” he said upon assuming his new responsibility.

For his part, the outgoing president of the organization, Pedro Ontiveros, presented his balance at the head of the association, where he highlighted the holding of protests, forums and co-authoring of documents, alongside the Federation of Pensioners in Spain and similar Associations in America, Europe and Venezuela.
“Even in pandemic conditions, virtual contact was maintained with the National Assembly and with the president of the National Assembly (AN) elected in 2015, Juan Guaidó. Also with the ambassador of the interim government in Spain, Mr. Manuel Antonio Ecarri Bolívar. We attend virtual forums related to the International Criminal Court in order to expose the situation of extermination to which Venezuelan retirees and pensioners are subjected, ”he said.
