Mistreatment of the Peruvian press

As reported by Canal N and RPP TV, it was initially said that the conference would only be for foreign press accredited in the country. However, the national pressmen normally entered the venue of the event.

“What are you guys doing here?”, said a person in charge of the press staff of the Presidency, who was not identified. Then it was arranged that they go to another room near the Government Palace, where they would not have the option to ask questions.

During the event, the head of the MTPE, Alejandro Salas, stated that the national press is served every Wednesday after the sessions of the Council of Ministers.

“We understand and we were notified that the international press requested exclusivity for this press conference and we have complied with you. We serve the national press every Wednesday after the Council of Ministers”he expressed.

“We wanted to do it through the communications office of the Government Palace, respectful of the commitment and request of the international press, and that is why we are serving you with the exclusivity that you requested”he added.

However, the Univisión correspondent, Mónica Vargas, revealed that the foreign press was summoned today and that there was no request for exclusivity, according to what she told Canal N.
