The president of the Association of Isapres, Gonzalo Simón, assured during this day that “they are ready to return” to the work table with the Ministry of Health (Minsal), warning that they have not yet had further conversations to specify the return to dialogue with the government.
It should be remembered that it was last week that the insurers decided to freeze their participation, arguing that “in the instance there was no real work” and the zero progress to seek solutions to the determination of the Supreme Court and to overcome the crisis of the private system of health.
in conversation with Radio Cooperative Simón announced that they are “prepared to collaborate in any instance that allows them to find ways to put the ruling into practice and at the same time continue to grant health benefits.”
As for the times and the manner, the representative pointed out that it will be “when the Ministry has a path to follow, either by administrative means or by legal means (…) that they will do so this way and they will have these guidelines”.
He also assured that they have never sought a “rescue” from the authorities, adding that “we are prepared to support these practical solutions, but general ideas must be on the table, at least general criteria of how to implement practice”.
As for the work of the Minsal, Gonzalo Simón declared that “two months have passed and the Government has not delivered proposals. We do not know general guidelines on which to work, so a paradox occurs: on the one hand, the existence of a work group; but the reality internally, what we saw in the practical participation in the group, is that there was no progress in the search for solutions”.
