Once again, the president of the National Assembly, Crispiano Adames, denounced that the pressure continues on officials of the National Assembly, who have not yet received their salaries, corresponding to 2023.
He reiterated that until today, a large number of officials attached to the offices of deputies are going through critical economic situations in their homes, since the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has not disbursed the corresponding resources for these payments.
Adames stressed that this is an action by the Executive where an artificial suffocation mechanism is exercised for his aspiration to aspire to the presidency of the Republic in the primaries of the ruling PRD party.
“This pressure violates the civil and subsistence rights of officials and their humble families,” warned the president of the Assembly.
Adames regretted that these pressures, which he describes as authoritarian and militaristic, are taking place in the PRD to favor the Executive’s candidate in the primaries of that political group, “having no compassion for humble Panamanians… if they now act like this, what can be expected to have the opportunity to direct the destiny of the country”.
He pointed out that on January 3, 2023, the online presentations of the General State Budget were given and that on January 16 it was endorsed; however, until today only 60% of the amount assigned to payrolls has been disbursed, with 40% remaining.
