The Vice Minister of Social Development, Ricardo Landero, presented to the Budget Committee of the National Assembly a total of sixteen transfers of funds for a total amount of B/. 1,108,340.00 to cover the payments of the Conditional Monetary Transfer Programs (PTMC) and other previously acquired commitments.
The allocation will allow for the contracting of helicopter flight rental services required for the delivery of PTMC payments in hard-to-reach areas. These flight hours will be contracted through an Institutional Cooperation Agreement No. 026-2021 between MIDES and the Ministry of Public Security.
This agreement was necessary due to the lack of experience in contracting procedures and calculations in flight hour logs in previous administrations, which resulted in significant expenditure for MIDES. Thanks to this agreement, a 50% reduction in payments has been made.
It is important to mention that this transfer of the item has been made, since the annual legal budget approved for the fiscal year 2024 (B/. 81,000.00) is insufficient to cover the entire third and fourth payment of the PTMC.
The transfer of funds will also allow the institution to comply with the payment of the second installment of the thirteenth month, scheduled for the month of August, which will benefit 2,980 employees.
These transfers were reinforced by the reduction of the MIDES budget corresponding to the savings accumulated to date in the permanent staff and temporary investment staff lines.
The Conditional Cash Transfer Programs benefit 191,412 people nationwide, with a disbursement of B/. 55,834,560.00.
